Welcome to the website for Honora Hanley, PhD, licensed psychologist in Washington State (#2309).
Honora Hanley, Ph.D. has over 25 years of experience working with children, families, and adults, and is herself a parent. In her work with clients, she uses a compassionate, practical, problem-solving approach, based on empirically sound cognitive-behavioral skills and strategies, as well as other therapy approaches tailored to the particular client or clients. Her approach when working with children, adolescents, and adults is a collaborative one. This may involve developing relationships both with her primary client, or clients, as well as with other relevant family members, other health care providers, and/or school personnel as indicated by the needs of the client. She is also committed to a "clients as consumers" model, providing clients with resources such as reading materials, websites, and other educational materials relevant to their needs. Dr. Hanley has extensive training in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), as well as training in CFT (Compassion Focused Therapy).
Dr. Hanley currently has an office in Vancouver, Washington, and is also providing teletherapy for clients in both the Seattle area and Vancouver area. In Vancouver, her office is located in scenic and historic Fort Vancouver, readily accessible from I-5.
Therapy services provided may address problems such as: Adjustment problems (e.g., work, moves, divorce, death, illness), Anxiety, Stress, Depression, and Couples & Family Issues.
While Dr. Hanley has provided assessment for ADHD, learning challenges, and giftedness in the past, her work in this arena primarily focuses on consultation at this time.
Dr. Hanley is on a number of insurance panels, including Regence, Premera, Lifewise, Uniform Medical, and Kaiser Foundation of Washington. Clients with other insurance plans often receive at least partial coverage for out-of-network. Clients are encouraged to be active consumers and confirm coverage if they wish to use insurance for her services.
